How to Read FII Stock Futures and Options Data
This page displays reported FII positions in stock futures and stock options for the dates available in the data feed. Futures long and short counts, futures net amount, and net call and put contract counts are shown as separate measures. They describe reported positions and do not, on their own, establish investor intent or predict a stock's direction.
How futures and options values are calculated
Stock futures long share is calculated as long contracts ÷ (long contracts + short contracts) × 100. Futures net amount is the feed's buy amount minus its sell amount, displayed in ₹ crore; a positive value means the reported buy amount is larger, and a negative value means the sell amount is larger. Net call contracts equal long call contracts minus short call contracts. Net put contracts use the same calculation for puts. These are contract-count differences, not standalone evidence of a bullish or bearish forecast.
How the combined futures label works
The combined label is a simple page classification: “Positive alignment” requires a futures long share above 60% and a positive futures net amount; “Negative alignment” requires a long share below 40% and a negative net amount. Other combinations are shown as “Mixed signals.” Daily contract changes are compared with the previous available date; the earliest available date has no prior comparison. These labels are descriptive and are not investment recommendations.
