What Is a 52-Week High & Low Screener?

A 52-week high and low screener is a stock screening tool that helps you find stocks trading close to their highest or lowest prices of the past 52 weeks.

TrendScreener provides a free 52-week high low screener for Indian stocks. It shows the current market price, 52-week high, 52-week low and the percentage distance from these levels in one place.

Instead of opening individual charts and checking yearly price levels one by one, you can scan a large list of Indian stocks from a single dashboard.

The screener covers 250+ Indian stocks and market data is updated every 1 minute.

How the 52-Week High & Low Screener Works

The screener compares the current market price with the stock's 52-week high and 52-week low. This shows how close the current price is to either end of its one-year price range.

The table gives you four important price levels and measurements:

What Does Distance From 52-Week High Mean?

Distance High % tells you how far the current market price is below the stock's 52-week high.

A smaller percentage means the stock is trading closer to its yearly high. For example, if a stock is showing a 2% distance from its 52-week high, its current price is relatively close to that high.

Stocks trading close to their 52-week highs can be worth further analysis when looking for strong price momentum or potential breakout setups. However, being near a 52-week high does not by itself confirm a breakout.

What Does Distance From 52-Week Low Mean?

Distance Low % tells you how far the current market price is above the stock's 52-week low.

A smaller percentage means the stock is trading closer to its yearly low. For example, if a stock is showing a 3% distance from its 52-week low, the current price is relatively close to that low.

Stocks trading near their 52-week lows may indicate weakness or continued selling pressure. They can also be useful for further research when looking for stocks that are under pressure or approaching important yearly price levels.

Understanding the Structural Zone

The Structural Zone gives you a quick classification based on how close the current price is to the 52-week high or 52-week low.

This makes it easier to identify stocks that are currently close to an important yearly price level without manually calculating the distance for every stock.

How to Find Stocks Near Their 52-Week High

To find stocks trading near their 52-week highs, look at the Distance High % column.

  1. Select the index or sector you want to scan.
  2. Check the 52W High and Distance High % columns.
  3. Look for stocks with a small Distance High %.
  4. Check the Structural Zone column for stocks marked Near High.

These stocks may be useful for further momentum or breakout analysis, but the 52-week high alone should not be treated as a buy signal.

How to Find Stocks Near Their 52-Week Low

To find stocks trading near their 52-week lows, look at the Distance Low % column.

  1. Select the index or sector you want to scan.
  2. Check the 52W Low and Distance Low % columns.
  3. Look for stocks with a small Distance Low %.
  4. Check the Structural Zone column for stocks marked Near Low.

Stocks near their yearly lows may be showing weakness. They can be useful for further research, but being close to a 52-week low does not automatically mean that the stock will reverse or fall further.

How to Use the 52-Week High & Low Screener

You can use the screener to quickly scan Indian stocks based on their position within the 52-week price range.

  1. Select the index or sector you want to analyse.
  2. Check the current market price against the 52-week high and 52-week low.
  3. Use Distance High % to find stocks closer to their yearly highs.
  4. Use Distance Low % to find stocks closer to their yearly lows.
  5. Use the Structural Zone to quickly identify Near High, Near Low and Neutral stocks.
  6. Open the individual stock chart or stock page for further analysis.

The screener is designed to help you narrow down a large list of stocks before doing more detailed technical analysis.
