How the FII and DII Sentiment Score Is Calculated
This is a rules-based screening score, not a probability estimate. It checks five daily conditions and adds 20 points for each condition that passes, for a possible score from 0% to 100%:
- Cash flow (+20): Combined FII and DII cash buy amount minus sell amount is above zero.
- Index futures flow (+20): FII index-futures buy amount minus sell amount is above zero.
- Index futures long share (+20): Long contracts are at least 50% of total long and short contracts.
- Index options change (+20): The daily change in net call contracts is greater than the daily change in net put contracts.
- Stock futures flow (+20): FII stock-futures buy amount minus sell amount is above zero.
What the score labels mean
The page labels 80%–100% “Strong Bullish,” 60%–79% “Mild Bullish,” 41%–59% neutral, 21%–40% “Mild Bearish,” and 0%–20% “Strong Bearish.” These are names assigned by this page's scoring rules. A low score means fewer of the five positive checks passed; it does not by itself show that investors are net short or predict a market reversal. The first available date has no previous date for the options comparison, so that check does not add points for that date.
